Methionine Transfer RNA from Insect Tissue

Abstract

The posterior silk gland of silkworm, Bombyx mori, L., contains two major tRNA^Met species. Only one species can be formylated with N¹⁰-formyltetrahydrofolate using Escherichia coli enzyme. The product has been identified as N-formyl-methionyl-tRNA.
