Further Evidence for the Existence of the po Site in the Active Site of Ribonuclease. The Binding of Thymidine 3', 5'-Diphosphate to Ribonuclease

Abstract

Binding of thymidine 3', 5'-diphosphate to ribonuclease was studied by spectroscopic, kinetic and crystallographic methods. The results show that the 5'-phosphate group is located close to the po site in the active site proposed earlier (Mitsui, Y., Urata, Y., Torii, K., & Irie, M. (1978) Biochim. Biophys. Acta 535, 299-308) for stabilizing the complex.
