Process of Making the Kintaikyo Bridge Model

Abstract

The Kintaikyo Bridge model in the collection of the National Museum of Nature and Science was not built simply for display purposes. It was originally built for the structural tests conducted for the reconstruction of the Kintaikyo Bridge. It is a valuable model in the history of Japanese bridge engineering.
