A checklist of Japanese aquatic blooming cyanobacteria with comments on their taxonomy

Abstract

We describe a checklist of Japanese water blooming cyanobacteria emended after “The Freshwater Planktonic Blue-Greens of Japan” by Masayuki Watanabe. We also add some comments on new combinations and taxonomically problematic species.
