Review on the fauna and the distributional ecology of pelagic chaetognaths in the Bering Sea and Okhotsk Sea

Abstract

The fauna and the distributional ecology of pelagic chaetognaths in the Bering Sea and Okhotsk Sea were reviewed. Seven species of chaetognaths, Caecosagitta macrocephala, Eukrohnia bathypelagica, E. fowleri, E. hamata, Parasagitta elegans, Pseudosagitta maxima and P. scrippsae were recorded in the Bering Sea in the previous works. In the Okhotsk Sea, 6 species, Aidanosagitta crassa f. tumida, Eukrohnia bathypelagica, E. fowleri, E. hamata, Mesosagitta minima and Parasagitta elegans were reported．
