Sphagnum platyphyllum (Braithwaite) Warnst. around in Lake Komadome, Daisetsuzan National Park, Hokkaido, Japan

Abstract

Sphagnum platyphyllum (Braithwaite) Warnst. was found around Lake Komadome, Daisetsuzan National Park, Hokkaido, Japan. Small communities of this species were growing on the wet volcanic rocks, 20-30 cm height from the surface of the lake. Occurrence of S. platyphyllum was reconfirmed after 60 years from the first record, at the second record of the locality in Japan.
