An Appalachian endemic liverwort, Nardia lescurii(Aust.) Underw. (Jungermanniaceae), is for the first time reported from Japan; Mts. Yatsugatake in central Honshu and Mts. Zao in northern Honshu. Based on the Japanese materials, a description, figure and note of this species are given.
