Abstract
The intensity of emission spectrum was studied by a Fourier transform infrared spectrometry. The sample was polyvinylacetate (PVAc) on aluminum plate and the sample temperature was 80±0.1°C. 1) The emission spectrum agreed with the transmission spectrum under 2000 cm-1 region. 2) The relations between sample thickness and band intensities were discussed about 1374, 1241, 1124, 1022 and 947 cm-1, bands. The linear correlations were found under 80 nm thickness. 3) Observation angle dependency of 1241 cm-1 band intensity was examined. The intensity at the angle of 60° was twice as large as the data at 0°. It was possible to detect the thickness of 5 nm of PVAc film at 60° angle (S/N=2). 4) The relation between the molar extinction coeffcient and intensity was studied on each band. The linear correlation between them was found except a very strong band (ε=500). This relation indicates the possibility to estimate the quantity of the material on the surface without any calibration.
