Abstract
The C. R. L. Universal source unit has been used conveniently for general spectrochemical analysis. However, the discharges with this source unit are inadequate, as the case may be, owing to over-heat of the electrodes. For the purpose of avoiding this difficulty, the intermittent discharge method with C. R. L. Universal source unit was devised. “n” ceasing cycles were introduced between individual discharges by electronic relaxation pulsater appendant to the trigger circuit.
This paper presents the details of the intermittent devices and an application to the determination of minute content of silicon in the thin steel sheet. An applicability of the new intermittent trigger devices to an alternative current arc is also described.
