Abstract
A measurement system both of the electric field-induced change in fluorescence decay profile and of timeresolved electrofluorescence spectra has been constructed by combining ultrafast pulse laser, time correlated single photon counting fluorescence lifetime measurement apparatus and modulated electric field. The system was applied to donor-acceptor pairs which show photoinduced electron transfer in a polymer film, and the initial step of photoinduced electron transfer process in nanosecond or picosecond time region was shown to be significantly influenced by an electric field. Time-resolved electrofluorescence spectra have been measured for electron donor-acceptor pairs of pyrene and N, N-dimethylaniline and porphyrin and fullurene dyads.
