Abstract
Diffused-reflection near-infrared spectra of 11 kinds of pure fabrics were measured with an AOTF (Acoust-Optic Tunable Filter)-type mobile spectrophotometer. These fabrics could be classified by analyzing spectra syste-matically to some groups such as the cellulose group, protein group and some groups of different type synthetic fabrics. On the other hand, perfect identification of these fabrics was found to be possible by deriving spectral fea-tures through Fourier transforms of observed spectra to power spectra. Spectra were also obtained for blended yarn fabrics of cotton and polyester with various blended ratios. A working curve for the determination of blended rations is proposed. Keywords: near-infrared spectroscopy, identification of fabrics, quantitative analysis, AOTF spectrophotometer, Fourier-transform analysis
