Abstract
We proposed a life strategy concept as "autumn paddy ephemeral" which is unique in paddy fields after rice reaping. For the adaptation to this strategy, short life cycle for completing reproduction until the beginning of winter or plasticity of growing period for both long summer and short autumn, may be important Paddy weeds are supposed to be now adapting to the open marshy habitat in autumn paddies which has been widely spread for only several decades.
