Single-cell analysis has been gaining global attention, and fundamental research combining comprehensive analysis using next-generation sequencing is actively progressing. However, conventional single-cell analysis technologies have primarily targeted cultured cells and are not suitable for analyzing clinical samples with limited cell numbers. This review paper introduces an electroactive microwell array technology that enables the deterministic and reliable capture of single cells using a microfluidic device, followed by various analyses of trapped cells. Furthermore, as a novel approach, we also discuss a single-cell analysis method based on electrochemical measurements.
