A centrifugal counter-current chromatograph in which both mobile and stationary phase solvents are delivered has been adopted for the determination of liquid-liquid partition coefficients. This chromatographic system can be expected to make consistent stationary phase formations due to the mass balance of the solvents entering into and emerging from the column. The partition coefficients of aromatic amines have been determined in a water-octanol partition system. The obtained partition values are in good agreement with the reported values, demonstrating the validity of the method. It is considered that this method can be applied to a counter-current chromatographic determination of the partition coefficients in various solvents systems.
