Abstract
Five transplantable strains of ascites hepatoma has been established by means of intraperitoneal transplantation of the spontaneous tumor ascites, which had been found in 19 cases of primary azo-dye hepatoma rats. On the other hand, one strain of the ascites hepatoma has been successfully established by the ascitic conversion of hepatoma nodules which originated in the one out of the 8 primary hepatoma tried.
The 6 new strains are kept in our laboratory. They show their own individuality which is distinguished from each other in regards to their transplantability, survival time of the tumor animals and the microscopical picture of the ascites. This agrees completely with the individual biological differences of the 4 strains previously reported.
