Abstract

Base cements with different mineral composition, limestone powder content and fineness were prepared. Strength development and setting time of fly ash cement prepared with these base cements were examined. Hydration of these fly ash cements was also analyzed. The increment of alite, f.CaO and fineness accelerated hydration of alite, and then increased mainly short term strength. The addition of limestone powder accelerated hydration of fly ash, and then increased long term strength significantly. As a result, fly ash cement containing base cement with increment of alite, f.CaO, limestone powder, and fineness appropriately developed comparable strength and setting time with ordinary Portland cement.
