Abstract

A coral aggregate has many voids so that there is concern that the pumpability will be reduced due to the pressure absorption pressure and the durability will be lowered. In this paper, the influence of absorption in aggregate on pumpability was evaluated through pumping test in actual plant. In addition, the concrete was exposed to marine environment(for 3.5 years)and durability was examined.
As a result, it was difficult to saturate the interior of the aggregate by immersion in water under atmospheric pressure, and it was confirmed that this property largely influences the pumpability. On the other hand, it showed that there is no significant difference in strength characteristics and mass transfer resistance of concrete compared with normal aggregate. The reason was considered to improve the structure of the transition zone at the aggregate interface.
