Abstract

In this study, outside exposure test on various places in Japan for the fly ash concrete has begun since 2009 and durability monitoring of the exposure specimen has been conducted for a decade in order to assess the effect of the differences of exposure environment on the variation of long term durability of fly ash concrete and the pozzolanic reaction degree of fly ash. This paper shows the results of durability monitoring during seven years from the beginning of exposure test and the pozzolanic reaction degree after seven years have passed. The durability of fly ash concrete is improved due to pore structure complicated by the pozzolanic reaction. The pozzolanic reaction degree of fly ash in concrete exposed in any condition becomes to be same to each other by lapse of enough time, such as seven years, regardless of differences of exposure condition.
