The carbonation of concrete is known to develop at different speeds depending upon various factors such as water-cement ratio, cement types and wet curing time. However, there are currently few studies researching how the stripping time of sheathing board affects the carbonation progress of concretes, using each type of cement.
For this research, concrete specimens were fabricated with various kinds of cement by changing the season of concrete placing, water-cement ratio, stripping time of sheathing board, and were subjected to accelerated carbonation tests. As a result, we have clarified how these factors affect the carbonation of concrete. Furthermore, we analytically reviewed the test results of accelerated carbonation using a diffusion theory, and identified the scope of the concrete of surface part which affects the carbonation of concrete.
