Abstract

In this study, high C3A clinker with various amount of C3S was prepared experimentally, and strength and adiabatic temperature rise of blast furnace cement (BFC) prepared with these clinkers were investigated. The 28 days strength of BFC with high C3A clinker (C3A:13~16%) was lower than those with the conventional C3A clinker (C3A:9~10%). To improve 28 days strength of high C3A type BFC, increasing of C3S or Blaine specific surface area, addition of limestone, and using of TIPA were effective. However, these methods, except for the addition of limestone, also increased the adiabatic temperature rise of BFC.
