Abstract
1) Cephradine was administered orally at a dose of 250 mg and 500 mg, and various levels were examined in the field of obstetrics and gynecology.
i) Mother's serum level attained to a peak 1 hour after 250 mg of cephradine were administered, value being 6.31 μg/ml.
ii) Umbilical cord serum level attained to a peak of 2. 51 μg/ml 2 hours after the administration. As this value is 2/5 of that of mother's serum, placental passing of the drug is excellent.
iii) Amniotic fluid level is rather higher as an oral preparation.
iv) Milk level was not recognized in the least.
2) As a result of clinical experiments, effectivness was observed 12 cases out of 14 cases.
3) No special severe side effect was noticed with the drug.
