Abstract
DL-8280 was orally given to 21 patients with urinary tract infections and 2 patients with prostatitis at daily dose of 300mg divided into 3 times a day for a duration of 3-14 days.
1. Clinical efficacy of DL-8280 in acute cystitis and pyelonephritis was excellent in 5 cases, good in 1 case and poor in 1 case. The efficacy rate was 85.7%.
2. Clinical efficacy of DL-8280 in chronic complicated urinary tract infections was excellent in 7 cases, good in 2 cases and poor in 5 cases. The efficacy rate was 64.3%.
3. Clinical efficacy of DL-8280 in prostatitis was excellent in 1 case and good in 1 case. The efficacy rate was 100%.
4. Bacteriological response for 25 clinical isolates was as follows: eradicated, 21 strains; decreased, 2 strains; unchanged, 2 strains.
5. As for side effect, one patient complained of anorexia, which disappeared gradually after therapy.
