Abstract

Biapenem (BIPM) was administered to treat commplicated urinary tract infections in 12 patients to investigate its therapeutic effect and safety. Efficacy was judged according to the criteria of Japanese UTI Committee. The clinical response in the 9 evaluable cases was excellent in 1, moderate in 5, poor in 3, and the efficacy rate was 66.7%. Side effects and abnormal laboratory findings were not observed.
