Abstract

Recently, Web services have been making remarkable progress. Federation of Asian Chemical Societies (FACS) opens a chemical information portal site, Asian ChIN (chemical information network) that is running as one of the official projects. The ChIN is a web-based guide for chemical resources on Internet. The current service of the ChIN is provided in English and in Chinese. Now we are constructing a Japanese portal of the ChIN with offering domestic chemical information resources in Janapn. It facilitates (1) searching for resources, (2) displaying the related information, (3) displaying personalization feature and (4) managing databases for the ChIN. The paper describes the state of art of the system with some illustrative examples.
