Exposure Test of Reinforcing Bars on Rust Inhibitor

Abstract

Recently some construction of new buildings were interrupted by the depression. In such case many reinforcing bars are exposed in the air on the way to construction, and it is possible that their bars are covered with rust. This paper describes the results of exposure test on reinforcing bars which were exposed in the air. Tests carried out at four places for 2 years. Their places were Funabasi in Chiba, Nagareyama in Chiba, Setagaya in Tokyo, and Okinawa. We examined the states of rust on reinforcing bars, and the effect of some rust inhibitor.
