The guideline published from JCI in 1986 was newly revised. In two decade, thermal stress analysis technologies, concrete materials and construction technologies have been developed remarkably, but recently as part of enhancing quality of mass concrete, crack control is more required. The revised guideline includes the advanced technologies in design and construction fields of mass concrete. The guideline is composed of six chapters including basic provisions and those commentaries, twelve reference materials, one analyzed example of thermal cracking by 3 D-FEM and six performance verification examples of thermal cracking of typical mass concrete structures. This report introduces an outline of “Guideline of Practice for Cracking Control in Mass Concrete 2008”.
