Abstract
In 2014, the “ISO 16311 Maintenance and repair of concrete structures” series was established. This paper describes ISO 16311 Part 2: Assessment of existing concrete structures. This ISO standard, which consists of 1. Scope, 2. Normative references, 3. Terms and definitions, 4. Framework of assessment, 5. Site and laboratory investigation and data collection, 6. Evaluation and verification, 7. Recommendation, and 8. Report, covers the assessment of existing structures. Assessment consists of preliminary assessment and detailed assessment. The former consists of condition assessment, while the latter covers verification of structural performance.
