Abstract

In recent years, various thermal and heat insulation measures, such as heat shielding and heat insulation measures, have been devised for agitator truck drums, but objective verification of the effectiveness of these measures has not been carried out so far. To contribute to ensuring the quality in concrete construction in hot weather, we studied various factors affecting the temperature of fresh concrete, such as solar radiation, outside temperature, and concrete temperature at loading, as well as the effects of various thermal and heat insulation measures, by carrying out basic experiments using water and examining the concrete temperature in drums during hot weather at eight domestic sites by using the continuous measurement data yielded by probes.
