Overall Discussions on the Earthquake-Resistant Reinforced Concrete Building as a Part of the U. S. Japan Cooperative Research Program

Abstract

The test results obtained from the sub-assemblage tests were consistent with those of the full-sale building test. The planar sub-assemblage tests, however, were unable to realize the three-dimensional effect of the space frame, i. e., the earthquake-resistant effect due to the members located in the transverse direction. Consequently it should be noted that this effect have to be taken into account in the evaluation of the seismic capacity of real buildings.
