A Design and Construction of Civil Work for Rocket Engine Firing Test Facilities

Abstract

LE-7 engine firing test facilities for H-II Rocket under development were constructed at Tanegashima Space Center. In these facilities, the foundation of test stand, flame deflector and spillway have the function of receiving flame and giving off it in the sky while firing test. These facilities are underground structures in the shape of a pit. The special loads such as thrust with vibration, sound pressure and thermal load in addition to normal earth pressure and live load were considered.
