Abstract
This paper presents the methods of evaluating the fire resistance of concrete elements. In this paper, the evaluation method by standard fire test and some of the proposed methods by calculation are given. Fire resistance based on fire test under the heating of the standard temperaturetime curve, is judged by the fire performance criteria comprising requirements with regard to loadbearing capacity, insulation and integrity. These are similar in almost countries. In Japan, the study on the fire design of elements of construction has been performed by SÔPRO “Development of Design System for Building Fire Safety” led by Ministry of Construction, and completed in 1988. Many tests and calculation results prepared a lot of practical fire design diagrams for different type of elements.
