Abstract
In spite of some benefitial effects, there are only a few instances of newly constructed bridges with external prestressing in Japan so far, mostly due to lack of proper specifications. In order to design the three span continuous PC Bridge on Metropolitan Expressway Bay Shore Route, the following aspects were studied : (1) FEM Analysis and Loading Test for External Tendons' Anchorage, (2) FEM Analysis at Deviators, (3) Evaluation of Ultimate Bending Capacity, (4) Suitable Material for External Tendons, (5) Resonance of External Tendons, (6) Fatigue and Frictional Properties of External Tendons at Deviators, (7) Measurements for the Structure. Results are summerized.
