The State of the Art and the Future Prospects on Long-Span Concrete Arch Bridges

Abstract

Many long-span concrete arch bridges are constructed in these years. We researched the history of the lengthening of arch spans and shapes of arch, members, construction methods and so on. And we studied the concrete arch bridge with the 600 m span length, considering the further lengthening of span length. This paper will discuss the problems on materials, design, analysis and erection method to realize the super-long-span arch bridge. The seismic design and buckling stability analysis for the arch bridge is also discussed.
