Abstract
The rupture of prestressing tendons due to corrosion under a severe environmental condition was found. The cause of the specific reason was shown here, and then, the load carrying behavior of a prestressed concrete bridge having the rupture of part of tendons and the effect of strengthened by additional external prestressing cables were examined based on experiment, which was carried out by utilizing a removed bridge of having more than 30 years service under severe environmental condition. And strengthening effect was also monitored on site.
