Utilization of recycled aggregate has been of great interest to researchers and engineers in construction fields and remarkable progress in research on its property as a construction material has also been obtained recently. However, for promoting more usage of the recycled aggregate for construction, standardization on its quality is indispensable. Therefore, Japanese Industrial Standard of recycled aggregate and recycled concrete using recycled aggregate was stipulated from 2005 to 2007. This paper reports on the overview of the Japanese Industrial Standards.
