With the accelerating increase in mobile traffic, high energy efficient utilization of millimeter-wave bands is required by further advancement in 5G networks, but low energy efficiency is an issue. The authors have proposed a millimeter-wave network system that combines a 60 GHz-WLAN with a mobile network and communication timing control technology, including a wireless communication quality prediction technology. In this paper, we evaluated the dependency of the energy efficiency of communication timing control technology on downloading data.
