There are various technologies developed to reduce the fuel consumption and greenhouse gases emissions of ships. Among various solutions wind-assisted propulsion technologies plays important role by using the available clean and green energy sources. In the present study, we focused on how much interaction effects are and how much they depend on the arrangements of rotor sails. We considered three different arrangements and conducted computational fluid dynamics simulations. It was found that linear arrangement was better for headwinds, square arrangement is better for side winds. Future studies will focuses on optimization of multiple sail arrangements.
