Abstract
Agricultural cooperatives have potentials for a contribution to the communities through their own activities based on agriculture and food. The purpose of this study is to find out how the cooperative can construct the system for contribution to their community utilizing their local market and how the community, especially local consumers are affected. To achieve this, a practical example, "Farm-mileage program" held in Higashiosaka city was focused on, and interview survey and questionnaire survey were conducted. In result, this activity plays important roles on partly enhancing consumers’ knowledge for local agriculture and purchasing local certified farm products.
