Abstract
The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between structure-bound manner and psychological distance. We tested our hypothesis that the degree as to how the experiential manner is structure-bound influences for psychological distance to words with valence. Results showed that the high structure-bound group, participants judged psychological distance to positive words more distal, whereas negative words were found to be more proximal than in the low structure-bond group. We discussed the impact of the relationship between structure-bound manner and psychological distance.
