Abstract
The purpose of the present study was to design an Evaluation Scale for Psychodrama. The surveys were completed by a total of 312 students (139 males, 167 females, and six unknown). As a result of the Maximum-Likelihood factor analysis, four factors were extracted: Self-affirmation (Factor 1), Self-understanding (Factor 2), Universality (Factor 3), Sense of support (Factor 4). Its subscale scores are moderately reliable and valid. The next survey was completed by 31 students (11 males and 20 females) who participated in a psychodrama class at the college. The participants were divided into two groups. One was a relatively more spontaneous group (A-group), while the other was a less spontaneous group (B-group). The psychodrama class was held for a total of eight sessions, every two-weeks. Some of the students experienced the protagonis's role (protagonist group: 14 students) and others experienced only the auxiliary ego's role and audience role (non-protagonist group: 17 students). Self-affirmation and Self-understanding scores gradually increased during the eight sessions. However, only with the A-group did Universality scores increase during the eight sessions. Furthermore, only with the protagonist group in the B-group did Sense of support scores increase during the eight sessions.
