Abstract
This article describes treatment for a ten-years-old boy suffering from various tic symptoms for two years. The cause behind the persistence of his tic symptoms seemed to be due to attention from his mother. There were other factors for the increase in his tic symptoms. He was scolded by his mother when he displayed tics symptoms and was behind on his school work. Treatment included psychoeducation about Tourette syndrome to his mother, and guidance to his mother to ignore his tic and to reinforce his adaptive behaviors. As a result, his tic symptoms reduced. Effectiveness of psychoeducation and parent-guidance for a parent who has a child suffering from Tourette syndrome and importance of assessment were discussed.
