Recently, society's interest in depression has deepened. Depression has become an important topic in the area of mental health. The effectiveness of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) in the treatment of depression has been supported. However, the therapy is not being supplied at levels to meet current society's need. To overcome this problem, the establishment of more effective procedure and their efficiency of these procedures are required. Behavioral activation group therapy (BAGT) can be considered as one such procedure that satisfies these requirements. In this study, the treatment effect of BAGT was examined for a group of males with depression. Participants of BAGT were seven men, with five completing the full program. The program was consisted of eight sessions, and was delivered in two parts: simple activation and intervention to avoidance pattern. The effect of the intervention included improvement in depressed mood and social adaptation through simple activation. On the basis of these results, the role of BAGT for the treatment of depression was discussed.
