A study on broadcasting of rural cultures using a model village

the case study of an entertainment TV program through the views of local residents and the producer

Abstract

Rural cultures that all rural settlements have retained tend to disappear. In order to inherit their values, using a model village is an effective way to broaden them. This study aims to clarify the roles and possibilities of the model in broadcasting of rural cultures by a TV program. In this study, through interviews and questionnaire surveys, the views of the local residents living around the model village and the producer of the program are analyzed. It concludes that by broadcasting a traditional rural culture, the TV program can help the local residents to revalue their own cultures, however should be taken account of how their daily lives are protected.
