Abstract
We made research in making process of index for developing sustainable community in Senri new town. For sustainable development, it is necessary not only to circulate the resources but also to renew the material environment and succeed the community. The strengthen of the power of the community is especially important so that inhabitants may make autonomous maintenance of environment continuously. The above point is contained in the index made with reflecting inhabitant's voice. And also it is more important to clear and share the aim of environmental condition than to clear and achieve the goal value.
