This paper is an analysis report of a questionnaire research for current residents who live in the stricken area by the Great Hanshin-Awaji earthquake. In the urban area called Hanshin district, many buildings were reconstructed and these environment have been changing since 1995. This research clarified as follows, 1- Resident's consciousness for current urban amenity differs from area to area, 2- Residents have feelings of the improvement of convenience of life, the decrease of town activity and the attenuation of human relation, 3- For the urban reconstruction process, the reconstruction plan is less-conscious for current residents in disaster areas. It is necessary of effective planning methods, techniques, theory for the disaster reconstruction plan.
