Abstract
In this study, we explored community-led town development by referring to the method of operating local community facilities by utilizing vacant houses.
We conducted interviews with the operators of local community facilities that utilize vacant houses (Hikarinoho and Hidamari-Gakusha), and investigated the renovation, management, and operational processes, issues, and causes of their occurrence.
The most important thing is for the operating body to foster and cultivate relationships with local residents. In the management of community facilities, it is necessary to foster attachment to the facility through initiatives tailored to the needs of local residents, and to make the facility an open place.
