Abstract
Smectite is one of the most effective materials as cation adsorbers
in the potential enginnering barrier for radio active waste disposal.
On the other hand, anion mobility seems to be fairly large in smectite clays. Hydrotalcite is one of the most effective candidate for the anion barrier. In this study, Bahavior of hydrotalcite is investigated by means of molecular dynamics method. Cl- and I-hydrotalcite - water systems were simulated for various mineral/water ratios. The structure and dynamic properties are predicted.
