Synthesis of Co-Al layered double hydroxides by a homogeneous precipitation method utilizing urea hydrolysis

Abstract

Co-Al layered double hydroxides were prepared by precipitation from homogeneous aqueous Co(II)and Al chlorides solution utilizing urea hydrolysis. The products were hexagonal plates whose diameters were 15-20 micrometer. XRD, SEM and FT-IR were used to characterize the successful formation of Co-Al LDH.
