Abstract
There are a lot of similarities both in music and in language. Beyond the sounds, there must be a world described with unspoken words. Especially, the romantic era composers transformed invisible languages and the universal truth into passionate music, that transcended people’s inner feeling. In those days, poetry played a significant role in people’s lives.
In this paper, the author focused on “Kinderszenen” op.15 composed by R.Schumann, who was outstanding in poetic output, in order to reveal his linguistic magic. ‘Träumerei’ is evidently the core piece in “Kinderszenen”, which might suggest a large amount, just like meaning ‘dream’.
In this research of “Kinderszenen”, Schumann’s subconsciousness related to his composing style emerged, which is beyond the notes. As he was specifically talented in conversation between reality and unreality, he had presumably given lots of open-questions to the next generation, who can see his unique soundscape.
