Abstract
Granulated type 304L austenitic stainless steel powders were made by adhering fine powders to conventional water-atomized powder of -100 mesh. Our study was carried out to investigate the effect of the fine powder addition on the densification behavior and gas-tightness of the sintered bodies made of these powders. These powders were compacted at 590 MPa, then vacuum-sintered at 1523 K for 3.6 ks. Gas-tightness test was performed by measuring the pressure reduction of compressed air(400 kPa) in the container.
